Military Lands and Cantonments Department is looking after the local governments in 44 Cantonments through Cantonment Boards and managing the defence lands all across the country through 11 Military Estate Circles. It is an attached department of the Ministry of Defence. Directorate of Military Lands and Cantonments provides advisory input on defence lands and local government matters in cantonments to the Federal Government (Ministry of Defence) and all related stakeholders i.e. Service Headquarters and other organizations under Ministry of Defence.
